WNC consultation on health lifestyle services
/in News/by ClerkA review of West Northamptonshire healthy lifestyle services is underway to explore how services and support could be improved and made easier to access.
Residents are being encouraged to share their views to help inform this future service development and ensure support reflects local needs and priorities Help shape future healthy lifestyles support in West Northamptonshire | West Northamptonshire Council (opens in new window)before 18th November.
- West Northamptonshire Council (WNC) has launched a survey to better understand what matters most to residents when it comes to maintaining and improving their health and wellbeing. The feedback will influence services and explore how support can be delivered in a more joined-up way, making it easier for people to access the information, advice and assistance they need.
- The survey covers a broad range of factors that contribute to healthy lifestyles, including physical, mental, emotional and social wellbeing. Residents are being asked about what helps them stay healthy, the challenges they face, and how services could best support them.
- Healthy lifestyles involve many aspects of everyday life, from staying active, maintaining a healthy diet and achieving a healthy weight, to stopping smoking, reducing alcohol intake, managing stress, and feeling more connected to family and support networks.
- The Council is keen to hear from as many residents as possible to ensure future services reflect the diverse needs of communities across West Northamptonshire.
Cllr Laura Couse, WNC’s Cabinet Member for Adult Care and Public Health said:
“Good health is about so much more than exercise or physical fitness. It’s about our mental wellbeing, feeling connected to other people, and having the support we need to live well and stay independent for longer. We want healthy lifestyle support in West Northamptonshire to reflect what matters most to residents and to be easy to find, easy to access and genuinely helpful. By taking a few minutes to complete this survey, residents can help shape what future support looks like across our communities. Whether you’re already using health and wellbeing services, have struggled to access support, or simply have ideas about what would help you and your family live healthier lives, we’d really like to hear from you.”

Council Income
/in News/by ClerkThe Parish Council understand there is a query regarding the Compass Energy community cashback scheme. Compass Energy tracks the collective volume of oil purchased by parishioners and a percentage of those sales is given back to the community as an annual donation to the local Parish Council.
Based on previous years, the donation for Guilsborough is estimated to be around £1,000 per year. The income is not attributed to any particular expenditure but it is accounted for when preparing the annual budget.
In essence, it allows the Parish Council to reduce the precept request by £1,000 (the precept is the money Parishioners pay via their WNC Council Tax Demand).
If a donation was not received (i.e. no parishioners purchased oil from Compass Energy) then the Parish Council would have to consider how to fund the deficit.

The 2027/28 budget process begins in October 2026. The Parish Council will finalise their budget and precept request by 6th January 2027 at the Council meeting.
